DJ Havana Brown

Known for up-tempo R&B and hip-hop sets, tinged with a touch of electro-house, Havana Brown has raised eyebrows, pulses and hands across club floors around the world in her four years as a DJ. Her much anticipated Crave Vol 5 has now been released.

Born in Melbourne, Australia DJ Havana Brown is blessed with exotic good looks and an air of confidence. Added to this is a determination to succeed which has seen her accomplish a high standard of DJing and a solid rep to go with it, despite the obvious hurdles facing a female DJ in a male dominated scene.

Australia’s leading female DJ, DJ Havana Brown, was handpicked as the only support act for Britney Spears' ‘The Circus Tour', which started in Paris on July 4th.  DJ Havana Brown was personally approved by pop superstar Britney Spears to support her for 11 shows across Europe, US, and Australia.

Havana Brown performed her energetic dance sets for each show, pumping up the crowd before the princess of pop hit the stage.  “This is such an incredible opportunity to perform with the ultimate entertainer- Britney Spears. "I am living my dream at the moment, touring the world and working with such talented artists and doing what I love most", said DJ Havana Brown. It has been a great three years for Universal Music artist, DJ Havana Brown, who also toured with the Black Eye Peas, Chris Brown, Rihanna, The Pussycat Dolls, Beyonce and Lady GaGa in 08/09.

Havana Brown grew up with a love of music but the journey that eventually lead her into DJing was almost accidental. As a singer, Havana joined the group Fishbowl, along with two members of the group Supafly, and relocated to London to pursue opportunities with the band. Unfortunately, soon after being signed to Polydor, infighting saw Fishbowl disband before ever releasing an album and Havana Brown found herself in musical limbo but determined to continue working in the music world. While partying in a London club one night she found herself drawn to the DJ's ability to rock the floor. Despite having never previously considered the decks as a means of expression, Havana was sold on the idea of becoming a DJ that night. With early mentoring from DJ Panos (Supafly) Havana Brown began learning the basics and saved every penny to buy her first set of CDJs. Havana Brown

Havana then began approaching skeptical club promoters, who were less than enthusiastic about hiring a female DJ. Havana hustled her first series of DJ gigs by offering to spin free-of-charge, a strategy that eventually paid off and lead to regular appearances at some of the biggest parties in London. In addition to playing at many of London's most exclusive nightclubs, Havana has also played many of the biggest VIP parties, catering to the entertainment and fashion industry. Havana has toured nationally across Australia as well as several tours to Asia including: Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia and China, and after the 'Circus Tour' with Britney Spears, has added more countries to this list.

After returning home to Aus for what was intended to be a three month holiday, new opportunities came thick and fast. Havana Brown was nominated for Best DJ at the Urban Music Awards in 2007 and won Best DJ in Pop Republic Magazine's 'It List' in 2007.

Since signing to Universal Music Australia, her first project with the label, compilation CD series 'Crave' reached the National top 10 on the ARIA Compilation chart and top 5 on the ARIA Urban charts. Crave is a double CD of the hottest R&B and hip-hop mixed by Havana Brown. Due to the overwhelming success of her first Crave album, a series of albums have been released, with Crave Vol. 4 due for release soon. In between DJ gigs and work on the Crave compilation, Havana is constantly writing music and looking forward to performing her own songs in the not too distant future. With a drive for success, but more importantly, an unyielding passion for music, Havana Brown is set for a lengthy career as a DJ and an entertainer.
